WEATHER CONDITIONS

The Port of Progreso is located in the Yucatan Peninsula, a privileged area for having wind more than 300 days a year. A paradise just 20 minutes from the city of Merida and 45 minutes from the International Airport.

Constant winds throughout the year. In Spring and Summer (from March to August) we have breezes that are side-onshore thermal winds of 15 to 25 knots. In Autumn and Winter (from November to February) we have cold fronts with winds that reach 30 knots on strong days. For days with offshore wind we offer classes with the support of boat in sea and lagoon.

I spent a week at High Life in Progreso and had an absolutely fantastic time. I started learning how to kite and couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. The spot is amazing - right on the beach, with perfect sunsets every evening and great kiting conditions every single day. It truly feels like a little paradise.

The community was incredibly welcoming, creating a great atmosphere both on and off the water. The lessons were very well structured, the equipment top-notch, and everything was adapted to my individual needs and skill level. I felt safe, supported, and constantly encouraged to improve.

We had an awesome experience at High Life. Mario and his crew make you feel welcome and part of their group. Very easy going and great at their sport. My instructor, Roman, was a calm patient teacher, and I was able to get up on the board by my fourth day. My husband rented equipment, and the guys gave him pointers on to how to improve.

If you want to learn how to kite surf or have a great long ride, this is the place to go. The water is shallow and warm, either on the ocean or the lagoon ( depending on the where the wind is that day). Make sure you have at least a week!
